Visual and Performing Arts
Welcome to the Gateway Fine Arts web page.
“I believe arts education in music, theater, dance, and the visual arts is one of the most creative ways we have to find the gold that is buried just beneath the surface. They (children) have an enthusiasm for life, a spark of creativity, and vivid imaginations that need training – training that prepares them to become confident young men and women.”
– Richard W. Riley, Former US Secretary of Education
The capacity of human beings to think creatively, to create, and to appreciate the arts is an indispensable skill in developing the "whole" student here at Gateway. Visual and Performing Arts has four disciplines: Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Gateway has developed a comprehensive VPA curriculum for students from Kindergarten to the 12th grade. We believe that all of the arts are an integral part of our instructional program and reflect vibrancy, diversity, culture, and well...fun!
Please take time to check out the various links within our VPA site, as well as the calendar of this year's activities, performances, and festivals. You can be very proud of the wonderful VPA staff we have at Gateway. Be sure and have your children take full advantage of their amazing talents.
The Visual Arts department boast four outstanding teachers. These teachers strive to open student's minds to the wonderful world of visual art. Encouraging children to delve deep within themselves to discover their inner artist is a prize of great value. Many of our young artists win awards with their amazing art work, so if you or your child would like to know more about our Visual Arts department, be sure to visit the Visual Arts page and feel free to contact one of our art teachers for more information.
