Middle School Choirs Perform Spring Concert
(Mar. 23) -- Gateway 5th and 6th grade choir members performed a concert Thursday night in the Student Union Building. The choirs are directed by Sarah Shuck.
Gators Beat Up Buffs, 11-0
(Mar. 21) -- Pitchers Steven Vejil and Seth McAlister combined to shut out the Florence Buffaloes, 11-0, in a district game played in Florence. The Gator offense battered Florence pitching with a 6-run outbreak in the 4th inning. Taylor Smith had 3 RBI and Blake Rambusch had two hits. Gateway ran their district record to 2-1 and will play the Austin Royals at the Dell Diamond this Friday in a non-district game. Their next home game is versus Comfort on Monday, May 27.
Raising Monies for Leukemia/Lymphoma Society
Congratulations to the Gateway High School AVID students who collectively raised almost $9,000 during the month of February for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LLS Campaign Manager for Central Texas, Jessye Padilla, was on hand for the check presentation today in the Student Union. Denise Hartline and Carrie Ferguson are this year's AVID sponsors. Gateway was in the top five school fundraisers in Central Texas, according to Ms. Padilla.
Gateway Girls' Choir Earns Sweepstakes
(Mar. 6)) -- The Bel Canto Varsity Treble (7th & 8th Grade) Chorus won "Sweepstakes" at the UIL Sightreading Contest Monday afternoon at Georgetown High School. This represents a first for Gateway music!!
